Classes are taught by Mark Terrell, a Bob Ross Certified Instructor and Alexander Certified Instructor who has taught more than 1,200 students. Groups are small, the atmosphere is relaxed, and every step is demonstrated before you try it yourself.
What happens in a painting class?
You'll learn the wet-on-wet oil painting technique made famous by Bob Ross. Because the colours blend on a wet canvas, you don't wait days for layers to dry, so a finished painting is genuinely possible in one day.
- Morning: the base coat, a glowing sky and palette-knife mountains with snow highlights.
- Lunch: bring a packed lunch; tea, coffee and biscuits are on us all day.
- Afternoon: misty forests, water and reflections, then “happy little trees” and your signature.
- Home time: around 4pm, with your own framed-ready oil painting.
